William Zane Cozens was born in Canada in 1830. He came to Colorado when he was twenty nine years old and was soon elected sheriff of Central City.

However, in 1874, he moved his family to Grand County where they ranched, established a post office and ran the stagestop in the Fraser Valley.

The house is now the Cozens Ranch and Stage Stop Museum and all that remains of the large ranch complex which once covered over 700 acres.

Cozens Ranch House is one of the oldest homesteads in the Fraser Valley. Throughout the house now you will find photographs of the Cozens family and early life in the Fraser valley. Original wallpaper and carpet pieces in the mainhouse are combined with family and antique items to help history come alive.

Located on the East side of U.S. Highway 40 between Winter Park and Fraser
